Last year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Hurricane Run took out the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot overnight.
The Montjeu four-year-old trained by Andre Fabre and ridden by Christophe Soumillon was niggled at the half mile when Frankie Dettori made his move aboard the Godolphin trained Electrocutionist.
Wedged up between runners, Soumillon simply sat biding his time until a gap appeared.
Hurricane Run made it eight wins from just 10 starts, four of which have come at Group One level after overhauling Electrocutionist in the run to the line to score by half a length with Japanese raider Hearts Cry finishing third.
