Clarke takes lead while Beadman surges on

Apprentice jockey Tim Clarke took the outright lead for the apprentice jockeys' title after winning aboard the Bob Thomsen trained Matilda Princess yesterday at Randwick.

Clarke now leads Kanachiro Fujii by one win with six meetings to go.

Matilda Princess won yesterday despite a wide run throughout in the Men Of League Raceday Handicap.

Meanwhile, Sydney's leading rider Darren Beadman brought up win number 146 when he steered home a double at Randwick.

The ace hoop brought home Hasro in Race 3 for Broadmeadows trainer Darren Smith and Panjandrum in Race 6 for master trainer John Hawkes.
