Japan Cup Invite For El Segundo

The Colin Little trained El Segundo has received an invitation from the Japan Racing Association to represent Australia in the Japan Cup in November.

The JRA inspected El Segundo at Little's Caulfield stables and immediately issued an invitation for the $US4 million race run in Tokyo in November.

Little said he would target the $3 million W.S. Cox Plate at Moonee Valley during the Melbourne Spring Racing carnival and would aslo nominate his rising star for both the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.

Little added he didn't expect El Segundo to line up in both handicaps saying he wouldn't back the Pins gelding up in both the Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate.

El Segundo is expected to resume at Flemington next month.
