Australian jockey Kerrin McEvoy has notched another Group 1 win in England scoring aboard 50/1 longshot Rajeem in the 200,000 Group One UAE Equestrian & Racing Federation Falmouth Stakes (1600m) at Newmarket.
The Melbourne Cup winning jockey said after bringing up a double, "She's an easy filly to ride and I was happy to be near the front on her. She quickened up really well from the three pole and surprised me with how much she found."
"I was waiting for the big guns to come and take her on but she kept on all the way to the line. I think she would have finished third at Ascot with a better run and she was unlucky there."
"Both Mr Manana and Mr Brittain have been a great help to me. Mr Brittain has supplied me with many of my outside rides this season. Today was a pleasant surprise and shows you have to be in it to win it.
"There was a small field and a no pace early, but she has still run a great race on the day. She relaxed very well in front, we got an easy lead and she quickened up really well."
