Munce has to play waiting game

Australian jockey Christopher Munce will have to play the waiting game with the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) still not ready to table their report to the Department of Justice.

A spokesman for ICAC said yesterday, "I'm afraid it is not our policy to update the progress of any
investigation."

"At this stage, we have nothing to add apart from our press release issued on July 4," which simply stated that Munce, along with six others was arrested following an ICAC investigation, code-named Twin Towns, into an alleged tips for bets bribery scandal.

The general practice of the ICAC investigators is to complete a report once an investigation has been completed. The report will then be submitted to the Department of Justice who will decide if prosecution should be sought against those arrested.

No time frame was given with the ICAC spokesman adding, "It would be impossible to give you a time frame as each case is different in nature and complexity."

Meanwhile, Munce sits bailed up in Hong Kong not knowing what the future may hold and with no way of returning to Australia to ride during the upcoming Spring Racing Carnival.
