Racing Victoria Limited (RVL) has appointed Stephen Allanson as its new Chief Executive Officer. Allanson replaces Robert Nason who is now the Managing Director of Racing and Media for Tabcorp Ltd.
RVL Chairman Graham Duff AM made the announcement late yesterday with issuing a statement saying the RVL Board had unanimously endorsed the recommendation of its sub-committee to appoint Allanson, who has been Acting CEO since April.
Mr Duff said in a statement, "Stephen is a highly regarded racing administrator both in Australia and in many other parts of the world. His knowledge, experience and passion for racing and those who contribute to it, will be of significant benefit to the Victorian industry well into the future,"
"The Board fully endorsed the transparent and professional manner in which the subcommittee handled this matter. The subcommittee conducted a thorough process and its decision to recommend Stephen as the successful candidate was in no way influenced by the actions of other candidates. Stephen was in fact the unanimous selection of the sub-committee from all of the short-listed candidates involved in yesterday's final interview process," he added.
Allanson said, "I am very pleased to have the opportunity to take up the challenges facing thoroughbred racing in Victoria and to ensure we are at the forefront of the rapid changes taking place on the world racing scene,"
