Up and coming sprinter Starlactic has drawn the coveted gate one in Wednesday's Ramornie Hcp (1400m) at Grafton.

The Wayne Lawson trained youngster will be the one to beat when he is partnered by regular rider apprentice Ric McMahon as they look to get back into the winners list after their last start second behind the smart three year old Natural Destiny at Eagle Farm.

New Zealand trainer Peter McKenzie will saddle up Caloundra Cup winner Empyreal (12) and three-year-old Sculptor (16) in Thursday's Grafton Cup (2400m)
