Wunderwood has been purchased by Mike Watt, the former part owner of Irish Champion stayer Vinnie Roe trained by Melbourne Cup winning trainer Dermot Weld.
Formerly trained Lady Herries Wunderwood, Wunderwood will line up at Goodwood this week in the Tatler Summer Season Stakes with a view to heading to Melbourne for the Spring Racing Carnival.
Watt said, "The ultimate aim is the Melbourne Cup and with a bit of luck we will get there,"
"After Vinnie Roe I said I wouldn't do it again but I suppose it is a bit of disease. I'll have one more go.
"I would have liked Lady Herries to have continued to train him but I have another horse with David and he has the experience and desire to try to win the race, but it will be a tough haul."
